It’s Important For Your Character To Have Talents AND Flaws

According to Hedy Czu in Designing Your Book: Before Your Write A Word, the main character
always has to have a finer side.

She must possess some strength, some quality of character that counteracts the negative impression left by her character wobble and her first statement of character.

Let’s face it, a lot of us struggle with changing ourselves. Someone else is messed up; not us. To have a story, we must be ready to change (even though we don’t want to). Something about our desire has now bubbled to the top and we must act.

How will we use our talents to create a new habit to eliminate a flaw?
